Pros

I used to work for BASES, a division of Nielsen. BASES was unique and wonderful. Smart, kind, and motivated people.

Cons

The direction since the Private Equity takeover was a disaster. Mitchell Habib & Co treated everyone like their jobs were flipping burgers and have since lost talent that will take years to rebuild.

Pros

Absolutley nothing. Which is a tragedy, because Nielsen was once an absolutely great place to work. I wanted to retire here. The culture used to be great, and I really loved being a part of this place. I loved my team, my management, and the people. Then along came the current CEO who is the classic example of a person who knows the cost of everything, but the value of nothing. He took over and ran the company full speed ahead in to the iceberg. And to try and save the sinking ship, he laid off literally thousands of highly experienced, highly trained, and highly engaged people to replace them with fresh overseas hires who know nothing about the company and expect them to be trained from the ground up to replace literally centuries of collective expererience and client relations. It's a disaster. This CEO shouldn't be trusted to run a lemonade stand.

Cons

Everything. Pay, job security, culture, management. Nothing is good here anymore. Don't take a job here unless you are truly desperate. And even then, it should only be as a stop-gap until you can find something else.

Pros

The people I used to work with (before the last take over by the private equity group took over) were wonderful, smart and hard working. Post David Kenny/McKinsey /Elliott Mngmt- really since David Calhoun/Mitch Habib ran the company - everything went downhill.

Cons

The atmosphere now is pure stress. Not because it’s fast-paced, hard work but because they fired everyone that knew anything about the products, science, math and client needs and replaced them with people who have no background, experience or training to take over. The people that are the “leadership” are really only concerned with getting a title and high paycheck or golden parachute and know nothing about what they are doing. It is ridiculously unorganized, unoriginal and a lot of lies. Very sad because it used to be a great place to work.
