Pros

One of the biggest advantages of working at Nordstrom is the opportunity to develop strong customer service and communication skills in a professional retail environment. Employees often enjoy benefits such as merchandise discounts, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for career growth within the company. Nordstrom is known for its commitment to customer satisfaction, which allows employees to gain valuable experience in problem-solving and sales. The company also promotes teamwork and provides training programs that help employees build confidence and advance their careers. Overall, working at Nordstrom can be a rewarding experience for individuals looking to gain retail experience while working in a supportive and customer-focused workplace

Cons

While working at Nordstrom offers many benefits, there are also some challenges to consider. Employees may experience pressure to meet sales goals and maintain high customer service standards, which can be stressful during busy seasons. Retail positions often require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, which may make it difficult to maintain a consistent schedule. Some employees also report that hours can fluctuate depending on business needs, affecting income and work-life balance. Additionally, dealing with difficult customers and standing for long periods can be physically and mentally demanding. Overall, the job can be fast-paced and rewarding, but it requires flexibility, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.

Pros

Nothing positive to say, unfortunately.

Cons

1.) Pay is low and the raises are nothing. For people who have financial goals to buy house and the car there is no way that you will be able to do that on Nordstrom pay. There is no way that you will achieve your financial goals, be self-made, and independent. Unless, you are married or have a Trust Fund... 2.) Management plays favorites. They are not fair. Someone that management does not like could do something and either they are terminated or they receive a P.D.D. or, the person that management does like does something and they do not receive any consequences. 3.) Drama and gossip, cliques 24/7. Not professional - far from it! 4.) Human Resources is completely worthless. does not support the employee anyway only supports the managers. 5.) There is absolutely, positively no future here if you are looking for a career that actually pays well, look elsewhere. 6.) Customers are very entitled. They do not know how to be decent. There are some that are OK but for the most part, these customers are the most entitled people I have ever encountered. They demand that you take their return even if it's a box of 20 items and if you do not do what a customer asks they report and complain to the store manager or someone at customer service. 7.) Management sites with the customer, even if they were in the wrong.
