Pros

The benefits at Nordstrom are really good. Depending on your manager you can have a flexible schedule. The employees are friendly.

Cons

The customer is always right, as a result you will be treated poorly by some customers. Your salary is tied to your sales/returns.

Pros

Nordstrom is commission based which is good if you are good at selling. You have the opportunity to make a fair living.

Cons

Your coworkers are highly competitive due to commission based pay. Though Nordstrom says they are all about customer service, ultimately if you are a better seller and don't break any serious rules, they don't care about how you treat people

Pros

Great pay on commission; most customers are nice; great benefits even for part time.

Cons

Depending on manager, some managers are not very accommodating to requested time offs; promotion to management is usually done by favoritism, not by qualifications; since sales position are entry level, you run into a lot of immature workers.
