Cons

Very very long hours espcially during the holidays, catty girls alot of gossip and a little too competitive, I dont like how everyone can see everyone elses sales figures

Pros

- Pretty flexible schedules, especially for part time workers - Very nice working conditions - Great employee discount - Can move around to various departments and learn different roles

Cons

- Although flexible, hours around holidays become overwhelming - The need to deal with difficult customers who return things never purchased in the store (due to policy of taking anything back)

Pros

Hands down...this is the best company I have ever worked for. The Nordstrom culture thrives in CR, IA. It is a very "family oriented" culture. Most of the management know all the employees names, their kids names and maybe even their dogs names...you're not another number at Nordstrom and the people care. They want to see them succeed; they challenge and lead them to thrive. Not only do they care but also motivate by always doing extra things for their employees such as treats during busy seasons and pep-rallies to encourage teamwork.

Cons

The benefits package is fair but it would be better if the bump up in vacation days was 3 years, instead of 5 (especially for salaried employees).
