Pros

- Benefits are great for individuals, decent for families/couples - Self-starting growth opportunities - No micromanaging - Work alongside some of the smartest people in the business - Training is typically reimbursed / yearly continued education stipends - Remote work for engineers - Opportunity to switch between contracts/projects - Lunch and learns all the time making learning about colleagues and new tech really easy - Good number of events (remote for covid) with interesting themes (coffee, beer, cider, chocolate tasting, walking/cycling competitions, etc)

Cons

- PTO is below average for a tech company - No dedicated sick time (that's right, you have to use your earned time off if you get sick) - No bonuses or performance-driven incentives to go above and beyond - Lack of communication/insight into ... - Confusing company mission statement - Some engineers have to work overtime depending on the client/project - Company encourages training and certifications, but there is confusion around training on the clock - Being immersed in a contract/project typically means Nortal culture takes a backseat

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback! I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed our great benefits, flexible growth opportunities, and intelligent colleagues. I love that you called out our lunch and learn events! Our “Lunch and Learns” and “Food N Facts” are our way of giving our people a space to learn more about each other and spark conversation about technology. I appreciate your feedback on our PTO as we are actively reviewing how we benchmark with our competitors to ensure our benefits stay competitive in the Seattle area. Additionally, I appreciate your insight into the confusion that exists around our company mission statement and participating in training and certification studies during work hours. Lastly, I appreciate your advice to management suggestions. We believe strongly in an open door policy in our US leadership team and welcome feedback. I will share these suggestions with my team and ensure we take these under advisement for 2022 so we can great a wonderful, stimulating environment for our engineers. Wishing you all the best, Leigh VP of People & Culture - North America
