Pros

Working with students is very rewarding; great coworkers; work-life balance

Cons

More full time employees are needed in some departments, so it was often hard to get everything done and to give the students enough help

It was a great place to work for! Excellent benefits and compensation package. If you like helping students this is where you want to be.

No downside! Great place to work although salary is low!

Pros

You know you're working at a great place when most people around you seem happy in general and especially with their jobs. People are friendly and positive. They are exceedingly good at recognition. Campus is awesome in terms of layout and renovations - newer technology than many other schools. I was a student there starting in 1999, completed my Associates but also took several more classes there over a span of 12 years because of what they offered and I loved the school so much. It was a personal goal for a long time to work there - one day I finally got the chance and it was great.

Cons

It's seems pretty competitive to get a full time or tenure job there. You really have to work on your relationships there so your name and performance is known. It could take years. I don't think this is different than it would be at any other credible institution though. Also - just like all colleges in a poor economy you're going to have a ton of adjuncts getting paid very little so they don't have to pay benefits etc. That's kind of standard nowadays, even though it stinks.
