The level of blatant disrespect, lack of trust, absence of empathy, and poor leadership in this organization is beyond unacceptable. From the very beginning, delays in training stemmed from a misguided decision to hire a Training director with no experience managing such a large-scale project. This director micromanaged every aspect, preventing trainers from accessing schedules, verifying if training roles were assigned correctly, or having any visibility beyond their lesson plans.
Speaking of lesson plans—these were strictly controlled by Epic, leaving trainers with no authority over the content. Instead of recognizing these systemic issues, leadership placed the blame squarely on trainers, who had no say in the disastrous execution. The response? More spreadsheets, more reports, and more unrealistic deadlines that only exacerbate the chaos. They brought in Deloitte consultants who have driven this place into the ground, and new leadership that blindly copies workflows from other facilities without understanding Northwell’s unique needs.
The situation has become unbearable. We are forced into endless meetings, yet are criticized for missing meetings or not training counterparts effectively due to the sheer lack of time. We are required to fill out excessive status reports including daily reports of what you do at every minute just to appease leadership—who refuse to engage directly with trainers to understand the real problems. Every new change in managers or directors only deepens the mess, creating a cycle of constant disruption and disorganization.
And don’t even think about getting sick—there is no concern for employee well-being. No one checks on you; they just expect you to return and continue working as if nothing happened. Instead of support, intimidation tactics are used—threats of termination, unrealistic demands for endless spreadsheets, and claims that upper leadership is "unhappy" and "disspointed with the trainers.
But rather than speaking directly to those on the ground, leadership remains detached, blind to the real issues.
At the heart of it all, we are simply following orders—orders that are poorly thought out, nonsensical, and lead to failure. Yet, we are the ones blamed when things fall apart. The level of dysfunction here is staggering. IT has become an unbearable, toxic environment. Since the Epic implementation began, this place has deteriorated into something unrecognizable—offensive, abusive, and driven by outright bullying.
Avoid this workplace at all costs.
