Incredible career for people willing to bet on themselves

I have been with the company for nearly 10 years and have seen first hand, through the dozens of people I have recruited, what an amazing career the Financial Advisor role can be. What people don't understand is we are broken out into different territories so one person's experience is not going to be the same as someone else's in a different geographic region. I'd recommend looking at your specific region to see what the experience has been locally. In San Diego, we have an incredibly supportive culture to give all the training, resources, and tools someone needs to succeed, and the new advisors must choose if they are willing to bet on themselves and put the work in to make the business succeed. This career is not for everyone, but for those willing to work hard, be coachable and have courage to put themselves out there for rejection, it is an incredible opportunity to be in business for yourself by not by yourself. The work we do for clients is incredibly impactful and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long!
Cons
It can be a challenging career and if you don't have the right financial runway to get started, it will be very hard to comfortably make this transition. Career changers need to be in the right position in life and ready to jump into a career where they want to be in control of their professional and financial trajectory, while making a difference in the lives of their clients.
