      You are an INSURANCE AGENT, not a Financial Rep! Poor management, little support, may depend on the office culture.

      Pros

      Very flexible student job - duh! No salary, no benefits, no nothing. As long as you are producing they are happy..met a few cool people but just a few. I was the top producer so I made good commission, but was also very miserable.

      Cons

      Brainwash you into thinking life insurance is answer to life's questions. Very poor management, depends on your managing director/partner I guess ours is a smooth talker and nothing else. People are only nice to you when you are producing. Even as a Registered Rep, insurance is all that matters so investments is like extra credit in a class that's worth like 5% of your grade. This is still an insurance co.!

      Pros

      If you're not familiar with sales then the training will be very helpful. Great moral throughout the company and the managers try to support you as much as possible.

      Cons

      The training doesn't cover any of the products offered so you're really not equipped to answer any questions. Too much sales based and brain washing you to think life insurance is the answer to all investment questions.
