Pros

Natchitoches campus is the best for a rural town with deep cultural ties.

Cons

The salary is quoted on a yearly basis, but you must take annual leave when the university closes; This is not disclosed in the offer. Pay is 15-20% below similar academic medical schools in Louisiana. Blacklisting employees is common when they leave. Poor budgets and budget constraints: Budgets seem arbitrary. Low expectations of administrative staff, toxic environment. They reward longevity, not creativity.

Pros

Excellent starter position, beautiful town with a unique culture

Cons

Jealous and hostile working environment. Wages have been frozen for years and are too low to meet unusually difficult housing market in the city. Administration openly gloats about blacklisting former employees.

Pros

It is a small campus so you know most people. The town is cute and quaint

Cons

This is a great place to start out or to settle down. Other than that, consider looking elsewhere. The pay is very low compared to the cost of living. However, you can make good pay if you suck up to certain people. As for Athletics, the only way you will make adequate pay for the amount of hours you are expected to work is if you get in good with the right clique and even then, it is not worth the unhappiness.
