Pros

Relative to other universities, graduate compensation is competitive, benefits are acceptable and location is great.

Cons

Experience will vary greatly by department, though compensation is generally well-equalized.

Pros

Northwestern University has a really great status that can help propel your resume forward as a starting biologist in this career. You also get a paid "winter break"

Cons

The pay is really bad.

Pros

Weekend and Holidays Off. You get a week off Winter Break, paid by the University.

Cons

You have to pay for parking. They say it’s tax free, but you’re paying close to $700 a year. Plus you’re making less than $20 an hour. So you do the math. Also the health benefits changed to United healthcare.
