      Where Dreams Die

      Pros

      Do you believe in international education? Do you value a separation of work and personal life? Do you want to build your skill set and launch your career? If so, do not work for Northwestern. This is where dreams and careers fester and die. Departments have been understaffed for over 4 years. Take home pay has decreased. The office is a hotbed for drama and the director actively pits staff against each other.

      Do yourself a favor and apply to Uchicago jobs instead.

      Looking back there is nothin that I can say is a Pros for this place

      Cons

      The system is structured so higher management benefits and lower workhorses are exploited for growth. It certainly depends on what manager you are working with, however, in my personal experience this place was terrible in multiple senses, where there were NO growth opportunities and massive suppression.

      Terrible place to work if you are staff

      -networking -nice offices if you are high enough up the chain -nice neighborhood

      Cons

      -Disrespectful attitude towards staff by higher leadership as compared to faculty -Major inequity and inequality with tokenism change -Negative work culture and treatment towards staff -Higher leadership and management not held accountable for racist treatment and bias practices.
