Employee beware (unless you're a straight, white man)

Pros

Only one - you have to work from home

Cons

It seems great until you realize you are trapped in the job, very stressed out, and severely underpaid. Compensation is commission based only. If your direct supervisor doesn't like you and gives preferential treatment to another employee, that means you can't make ends meet. They will make you earn every penny they pay you, and often make you work for free. They will even request repayment on past paid commissions if the customer finds even a tiny flaw in the work performed - WITHOUT getting input from the employee. Frat boy company. Not a straight, white male? Don't work here. Straight, white males get the best work and the highest pay, awarded with fancy trophies and sent on tropical vacations while everyone else fails to make ends meet. Straight, white males can get away with ANYTHING and stay employed and well compensated including outright racism in front of customers, failure to meet basic employment requirements, blatant disrespect for coworkers, and be rewarded for that behavior. Tight clique at the top level. HR defends all of the malpractice of the executives. Have a question about person X's actions and call HR for advice, get told conversation is confidential, then a few days later HR calls with Person X on the line to discuss questioned actions - with no warning! This is NOT appropriate. Don't bother pulling facts into the conversation, if it doesn't support making the frat boy executives look good, they will be discounted. Females should avoid this company unless they are applying for office support positions (the prettier the better for these frat boys). Specifically in the Operational organization - women suffer substandard treatment and management refuses to acknowledge the disparity.

Pros

- Learn a lot and work on different projects - Decent amount of travel - Work from home - Commission based so potentially can make a lot

Cons

- Priority seems to be given to some people - Can be put on projects as a lead with absolutely zero experience (but you will get help along the way. It's still very stressful) - You can work from anywhere but the only office that has more than 3 people at a time is the Santa Barbara office. - Commission based so you can potentially get screwed over. And then you pay the company back if that happens, even if it's their fault.
