      Pros

      Highly motivated, smart middle management and individual contributors. Great benefits, fair and balanced internal employee review system

      Cons

      Dysfunctional IT leadership. Severely overburdened processes make mountains out of molehills. People in charge of Quality and Compliance have little to no technical acuity, which results in weeks or months of arguing over wholly unnecessary levels of documentation and qualification that provide no additional FDA or business value. Quality and Compliance team runs completely unchecked. Nothing gets done without their approval, which completely cripples innovation.

      Pros

      Gained valuable experience while working at Novartis.

      Cons

      I worked mainly for the Sandoz Division of Novartis which I've heard is much different from the others, but in any case, it was a culture of high stress, daily emergencies, late nights and weekend work with minimal recognition or appreciation. Lacking in leadership and resources, tend to promote poorly performing employees in order to move them out of departments. Novartis management and oversight lacked heavily over the Sandoz Division.
