Pros

Medical was a great place to work. The team atmosphere was wonderful, even with the vast geographies. Annick and Lidia were a pleasure to report to. They were supportive of all ideas and really went to bat for the MSLs at senior management meetings.

Cons

The firewall between Medical and Marketing/sales, although necessary, made some aspects of doing business difficult. The lack of communication between the silos was frustrating when it came to dealings with customers.

Pros

Base salary is good. Health benefits and other benefits are top notch. Time off and some day-to-day flexibility is available. On going training and education is better than most.

Cons

1) Computers, software and other necessary office tools are old, unreliable, and not user-friendly. 2) Nearly all "objective" metrics used to measure one's performance are not within one's ability to impact - uncontrollables 3) First-line managers play favorites and participate in "forced-attrition" meaning if you are not a favorite, the FLM's will micromanage and harass someone to death in hopes of getting them to quit so the company can avoid paying severance or unemployment. 4) Commission pay plan and formula for setting the sales goals are extraordinarily complex, impossible to explain, appear to be completely subjective, and change nearly every quarter thus making it impossible to predict or plan ahead. 5) Most recently, quarterly sales goals were set so completely far from reach only 10% of sales reps achieved 100% in comparison to 50-60% of sales people who made it in every other quarter I've seen for the past 6 years!!! 6) Lastly, this entire industry is in a downward spiral and things are only getting worse.
