Pros
Novelis is a $12B company. So they're a large company and because of this there are lots of areas where an individual can learn. Also, the people there are pretty nice people to work with. The salary is, from my understanding, above industry average for the title a person holds. The HQ is in Buckhead which is nice when you want to go have a drink after work or enjoy a nice lunch at the many restaurants in the area.
Cons
Depending on the department you are in the hours can be extremely long. My department logs about 12 hours a day right now (50 to 60 hour weeks). Many in management will attribute this to the recent implementation of a new ERP system but this however is untrue. We were working these hours prior to the implementation. ALL the processes at Novelis are convoluted and difficult to grasp. Often times no one can give you a straight answer on how a process works. The Finance and accounting departments are completely overloaded with work and it will not get better because the company is essentially centralizing all of the accounting function at the HQ. If you are interested in coming to Novelis in a finance or accounting role, you may want to think long and hard before you make that decision. This will be an experience that you probably haven't had in your career. Very difficult place to work even for a seasoned professional. If you enjoy having defined and efficient processes, the ability to go home at a reasonable time & the luxury of your job not completely interfering with your weekends Novelis may not be right for you.
