Pros

Great company to work for, benefits are the best I've had. The company is well off and takes good care of there employees.

Cons

As a worker procedures and lockouts continue to get more complex, it is very hard to get things done in Maintenance. The out look of U.S. Steel is not great but they have really smart people working in administration so they will probably make it through the hard times.

Pros

The pay was a bit less than normal for my position. The retirement was adequate. If the market is good, bonus $ can be nice.

Cons

The culture is not real. There is a ton of talk about "how Nucor is" and "how we are safe", but I witnessed some pretty bad accidents and near death experiences. Yes, Mgmt reacts, but always reacts the says "lets be proactive" next time.
