Pros

Benefits, discount, 401k match, etc.

Cons

I was hired under confusing terms. I interviewed for a specialized position based on my prior experience, but was instead placed in an entry-level role with a slightly higher wage than they would normally give which was revoked a few days later via phone call. I reluctantly stayed, only to be assigned to the exact position I originally interviewed for, without the appropriate compensation. Promised full-time hours and consistent raises never materialized. As store performance declined, my hours were quietly cut with no communication. When I raised concerns, I was met with frustration rather than support. Advancement and promotions often appeared to favor younger employees who matched a specific image, rather than those with skill or experience. Performance seemed secondary to personality and appearance. There’s a strong culture of selling employees on the idea of long-term careers. Many, including myself, invested years expecting growth and stability, only to find ourselves underpaid and underdeveloped. It left several of us feeling misled and unprepared for better-paying opportunities elsewhere. The company has shifted its recruiting pitch to focus on “fun at work” perks like rafting trips, while competitors promote clear wage increases and higher starting pay. Overall if you work for this company or want to be in this business I would make it a very quick exit before 2 years. The company doesn’t have a bright future with an increasing number of competitors offering lower prices they are forced to take a page from other grocers; less labor and more profits. In the end you will likely end up behind career wise, over worked, have a lower wage than your peers, and struggle to pay the bills.

Pros

Benefits are good, and they have fun parties and events that they host where they give out big prizes, there's an annual rafting trip and ski trips for associates who are able.

Cons

Everything else. Cult like workplace, they start orientation by telling you all about the company history, and how you are all one big happy family, you have to know the mission statement by heart or else you are shamed, they had me give a presentation on a random item from the store where I had to sell it to the rest of the room, if you are socially awkward or introverted this company will make you want to crawl into a small hole and then they will pull you out of it and force you into activities again, no such thing as just showing up for a paycheck, this is your new dysfunctional toxic family now. The management is a joke, its so obviously a game of favoritism, you can be absolutely horrible at your job as long as your good at sucking up or cooing at baby photos... also if your a woman, just be aware of how often you will be put in uncomfortable situations like unwanted touching or creepy comments by certain associates... it happened so often in my 6 years of employment and not once was it actually handled by management to where it didnt happen again... Lastly you can never be sure you'll get full time, if your not one of the favorites? Hours will be cut and given to those management likes talking to the most. Call out because your actually sick too often? Your hours will be cut for the next month or two, maybe more. You just need to remember that this is just a job for a paycheck, and not a good enough paycheck where you could ever support yourself, if you do get a job here, start looking for a better paying career job as soon as you can and get out fast.
