Good Place to Work... Not Perfect, Though

Pros

- Flexible ours - Great work/family life balance - I enjoy collaborating w/ the people on my team - The benefits are great - One of the Best Places to Work in Ohio - Opportunities to work from home when necessary - Some managers really care about the people they manage... like mine

Cons

- Needs improvement in the "performance-based salary increases" policy - Upper management (Director and above) seems disconnected w/ those "below" - Promotions don't seem to happen fairly - Culture seems to be changing... some good and some bad. The bad is that upper management seems to care less for the people. I've watched great employees leave in the last 6 - 12 months and it is quite a difficult thing, to watch OCLC lose great talented people

Close-knit teams Friendly, nurturing enviornment Diverse workforce, both in skills and backgrounds Good benefits Strong work-life balance Can be very flexible (based on specific team/management, but true for all my teams]

Cons

Pay not great Can be hard to get promoted, as upper management is trying to reverse years of promoting automatically based on tenure

Great Benefits. Nice people to work with. Flexible work hours. In general very pleasant place to work. Opportunity to learn new technology

Cons

Not enough emphasis on results of work. Seem to be more concerned about how something is done versus what gets done.
