Pros

This is good work for someone who is interested in the eye care industry or medical industry in general. You'll learn a lot, if you're interested, and will be able to use your knowledge to move up. Pay will also increase if you decide to get licensed or certified. The knowledge can be used to move into different health care industry or even a hospital if you wished to. The company is also quite willing to teach you as much as you can handle if you are willing to take on the responsibilities.

Cons

The inconsistent hours every week kills, especially when you need every penny to get by. Some offices seem to have interpersonal fighting or have their own cliques. Pay can be low and benefits aren't really that good.

Some of the co workers were great to talk to. Good room for growth.

The management is horrible. Dr's sleeping with technicians. Favoritism!!!! Office full of women in menopause.

This is the first time I can honestly say that I was unable to come up with a single positive. From the CEO to upper management, to the office managers - all are incredibly petty, selfish and only favor people that kiss their butts.

Cons

The surgeons are wildly demanding and ego-centric, 99% of the staff are as awful as management, because everyone is played against each other. It's a mind boggling nightmare of phoniness, confusion, and favoritism. I would't want my worst enemy to be subjected to the blatant favoritism that can destroy your self esteem a well as your faith in yourself, not to mention the hell that comes with dealing with physicians and managers that constantly need their ego stroked,
