The company's operational unit, Veyer, is incapable of delivering an order on time and in good condition. Compared to a world class operation such as Amazon, Veyer is third tier in my opinion. Upper management is a group of white males that seem to have attended college on sports scholarships. The one exception is a woman, who of course, is in charge of HR. The CEO Gerry Smith has made questionable decisions, in my opinion. For example, the Company purchased a business called CompuCom for $1B. ODP failed at integrating the business so CompuCom failed and was sold for $250M. Nice job blowing three quarters of a billion dollars. My view is they appear to be on the same path with a B2B platform the company purchased and rebranded as Varis. Over emphasis on analytics derived from SalesForce.com., culturally the mantra for sales employees is to 'stay off the radar'. The sales force and many employees in the company are unhappy. As a sales representative you will spend half of your time tracking down missing orders and fixing problems. Customer Service is outsourced and is abysmal. The Company hires consultants and restructures every 2-3 years as they try to find some way to survive. My prediction is the company will be sold or merged within 24 months.
