Pros
The people and relationships you build at the company can be long lasting and very rewarding. This can be said about borderline anywhere though. Good pay, depending on the position of course. The company gives annual bonuses, matching 401k and HSA contributions. Benefits in general are pretty decent. Plenty of areas to advance, (Must be more of a “Yes-Man” if you intend on climbing the ladder.)
Cons
A lot of ethics violations going on behind the scenes. Becoming more and more apparent as you move up. Quite a few people in positions of power that make borderline discriminatory comments in small groups. An “off color” joke is not what I’m referring to. It’s more, “less self aware” about racial, religious and sexuality sensitivities kinds of remarks. The company is located in the south, more rural areas for many places, so this can be expected. After Covid, as with most places, the company became VERY politically charged and divided. Poor work/life balance. PTO is offered but it’s frowned upon if you utilize all of it. Not really sure why they give so much to be honest. There’s not enough staff to support PTO requests anyways. Vastly overextended. Senior management and the board continue spending millions on brick and mortar branches for some reason. Then pressure is applied to front line staff to boost production to ease some of the grotesque spending. HIGH levels of stress. Especially after Covid. Very understaffed IT department which has lead to ridiculous levels of incompetency and performance in their system integrations. If you want to move up- drink the koo-laid. Everyone does a pretty decent job of pretending like they actually want to be at work. If you can do this too then you’re halfway there. As I stated, this is a good company if you need a decent paying job. Not so much if you’re looking for a long, fulfilling and meaningful career with appropriate levels of stress to reward.
