Have to ensure that your manager provides sufficient autonomy and trust. Some managers can be micro-managers.

Pros

Company is very flexible about flexi-time and telecommuting. Company really helps you grow and promotes fairly. Raises given fairly, occasional bonuses very welcome. Does not demand 60 hours weeks from you, and won't make you feel bad about putting in a 40 hour week either. Company delivers strong product to clients.

Cons

Could use more vacation time as a benefit, only get xmas day off, not the day before or after. Some Project Managers much much better than others. CMMI is almost a religious focus.

Very Structured, Good Senior Management. Great if you buy into the CMMi philosophy.

Cons

PM's hire their friends from previous projects and "promote" them based on personal relationships, not merit. If you're a hard worker who does not fit into a clique of a particular PM, you will eventually be vilified and pushed out. Nothing personal, they just prefer to have their friends around. Saw it happen in several teams with different PM's. I was a PM who felt that PM's should do more than execute a WBS. This place is more about the process than the end goal. Extremely political.
