Pros

This is a great place to learn, since it’s the only Level 1 trauma center in Oklahoma. It is also a teaching hospital, so you will interact with residents, and there are a lot of educational opportunities offered. Many staff members are friendly and helpful, but it also depends on which unit you are in, like any hospital.

Cons

Certain areas are chronically understaffed. It is a very busy and fast paced hospital, on most any unit. The MAR used is Meditech, which is very clunky and difficult to use.

They don’t tell you what floor you get until right before the externship, so some people get stuck on a floor they don’t enjoy when it’s too late to find another job
