Pros

Hybrid schedule, good products, growing category

Cons

No leadership in the Finance department. Company hires execs from other Food and Beverage Manufacturers and it seems like they come here to get the salary and then coast.

Pros

Most workers have been employed several years at Oberto so a lot of pride goes into each package of jerky or sausage. Between people on the floor is a lot of team dedication. People are friendly and respectful to each other even though its a very diverse ethnic base company. Which is very refreshing in this day and age. Everyone (mostly) are striving to put out the best product possible, which we do and when you have a real team that works together it makes everything much more enjoyable. People are actually happy to go to work there and look forward to the challenges of the day as opposed to just punching a clock and putting their time.

Cons

Some of the downsides I have seen since working there are the upper management losing sight of what made the company so great, the line workers. They are the backbone of any company. All it takes are several disgruntled employees to cause a lot of hate and discontent and suddenly you have people not caring about quality, people looking to different employers and before you know it your team is now gone. That's where Art Oberto was true genius, he knew how to treat people right. People worked with him not for him. Having been employed before the new guard took over, its obvious people are now treated more like numbers than individuals. "You get out what you put in " rings so true in this circumstance. Another major con is lack of materials, spare parts and equipment. Come on get off your wallets. Order some parts! Oberto has now grown enough that it would pay off for them to have a purchasing team scouring for the best deals out there instead of opening up the Granger Book or Macmaster carr. They have their place, but not for everyday supplies. These two companys are budget eaters.
