Pros
Lots of smart, nice people in the teams who you can learn from and a good office culture. Graduates get treated well. Rapidly growing company – lots of job opportunities across Ocado. 15% staff discount and discounts to theme parks, zoos and spas. You can learn more than you would elsewhere. OK work-life balance – you stay late or do extra hours when needed, but it's not usually like that all the time.
Cons
Salaries are disappointing unless you're technical. Pay reviews come after decisions have been made. No formal promotion structure, no bonuses for comms roles. Marketing focuses on vouchers and DM, no future-thinking inspiring brand projects to work on. A strong focus on vouchers and their performance results in a lack of belief in brand activity. Don't hire external expertise at management level, prefer to promote internally – not always bad, but perpetuates the lack of experience.
