Associates are friendly, the company cares about people. We just had a really nice holiday luncheon and associates received gift cards to the stores. We get a special discount right before the holidays too.

Cons

Need a better cafeteria for this size of a company.

Pros

MOD's Todd, Jeremy and Glenn are amazing!! Employees are great as well. Everyone kept a positive attitude during trying times.

Cons

Scheduling issues, FES not notified of schedule changes of cashiers which is impairative to operations, not staggering scheduled times to cover store hours, store opens at 8:00 am no cashiers until 10:00 am during December the busiest time of year. Manager doesn't answer pages and is rarely available when on the premises. I've worked in retail since 1987 and have never seen such a lack of communication and organization. The worst Manager I have ever worked with. I do however have to add that Todd, Jeremy and Glenn three of the MOD's are an asset and this store clearly runs because of their dedication. It has been brought to the Managers attention numerous times of many issues and they have yet to be addressed or resolved. I was recently threatened with my job. I was a top performer in Insider cards, August Customer Service Award etc...my Manager waited until another store Manager was off Skype to threaten my employment. Is this company policy!?!? No its not and very unprofessional. I have had serious medical issues and he was well aware of this. I have provided Doctors notes and this has since been resolved.

Pros

Ocean State has some of the friendliest people to work with from the road crew, store crew and people in corporate. Every one is more than helpful if you have any questions, need help doing a job or just making suggestions to help your job go quicker and easier. they have been flexible with scheduling in family emergencies and most supportive if you need a friend. you have room to continue to more up in the company and anyone that i have talked to about what they think about working here has nothing but great things to say.
