Pros
Great communication from the top down. Pay is average to slightly higher than other retailers for store management positions. Company is expanding, which will create opportunities for many to get promoted. For salaried store management, they offer one week vacation after only six months and two weeks after one year. Company owned condos and RV are available for use. Discount of 20% on most items makes shopping there very affordable. Work life balance isn't great, but it is typical for a management position, especially in retail. So I wouldn't consider it necessarily a con.
Cons
Business information systems is outdated for a company of this size. Though to be fair, they are focusing on updating data sharing for management. Long hours with a lot of physical work; it's not a clipboard culture. Company tends to have a "that's what we've always done" when speaking of merchandise moves. Merchandise is continually moved without regard to where it will end up in the very near future, in fact, you will move it numerous times before you place it where you could have to begin with. Marking down old merchandise is rare in an effort to save margin so there is too much old stuff laying around. Internal departments, such as MIS (IT) and HR, don't always see store personnel as their customers so service isn't always the best.
