Pros

Work 2-3 weeks on and 2-3 weeks off, accomodations are pretty good, food is good and sometimes see some really cool ocean life. Sunrises and sunsets are definitely a sight out on the water.

Cons

Long process to get to the actual rig.

Pros

Good salary. Some crews can be fun to work with. Great benefits package. Travel opportunities, international work if you want it. Long term contracts on oil rigs if a steady schedule is better for you.

Cons

Life on construction vessels can be difficult at times. No set schedules for construction crews. Pay increase can make it better for you though.
