      Horrible place to work that doesn’t care about the people they take care of or employ.

      Pros

      Good place for a fresh out of school kid who doesn’t know any better.

      Cons

      Management is horrible. They do not value employees or have any sense of loyalty to those who spend their careers there. They do not have your back and will throw you under a bus in a minute. The people above you have little to no experience, so they have no idea what they are doing. Employees quit faster than it took to hire them. Work loads are ridiculous. Put your running shoes on because you will do the work of three people. Pay is low, so they definitely don’t pay you for the work you do. I could go on and on. There’s not much good to be said about the place.

      Pros

      For the lazy worker- it's pretty hard to get fired & you can get away with almost anything. Time-off policy is pretty generous and the benefits are not terrible. There's always lots of juicy gossip going around if you appreciate that.

      Cons

      As others have noted, many members of leadership lack any formal education in management. They are just kind of winging it, and you can tell. My manager was very computer-illiterate, but her job required use of Excel daily. It was rather unfortunate. Additionally, instead of facilitating a "team"-oriented environment, she chose favorites and told us that she was willing to throw us under the bus in order to get ahead. Turnover in our department was high. The culture of nepotism in the New Orleans area is rampant at Ochsner.
