Pros
great benefits, paid time off, paid holidays. the job is good if you’re looking for experience working in a clinic.
Cons
i was overworked everyday, which is apart of the reason i’m no longer there. they were asking me to perform duties beyond my scope and wasn’t worth what i was getting paid. also, they led me to believe i would get a salary increase, then i was told no later on. working here is good for a start and if you’re looking for experience but you can find a job elsewhere with the same benefits and get paid a little more (which is what i did). i knew it was just a money thing, they didn’t really care about my well-being. i felt like a zombie literally every shift. i also worked in an environment with all females so there was always gossip about somebody or something everyday, i was convinced a lot of the employees came to work just to talk about others (even patients), and even management staff would gossip as well. management showed favoritism to certain employees too. medical assistants also weren’t allowed to give shots at the location i worked at, only nurses which would slow the nurses down and it also wasn’t fair because ma’s are taught and trained in school to give shots. also at most other ochsner locations ma’s are allowed to give shots. once again, pretty sure that’s a money thing as well because they know if they started to let us give shots we would want to get paid more.
