Pros

You get to work for a very fast-paced company, where you could shape your role the way you desire as you will probably be building something new as opposed to filling a pre-existing role. Your sphere of influence will be big and you will often have access to talented peers and an incredibly approachable executive team, who commits to your development. People here are solving big problems with small experiments. Things you work on can scale fast such as figuring out how people will search online and bring the buy/sell experience in-person and local...a problem large retailers worth $ Trillions are trying to solve. You will have an authentic, relentless and visionary co-founder and CEO committed to make OfferUp a household name.

Cons

Processes feel a bit unsophisticated for the stage of the company, probably a symptom of hyper growth. Resources seem insufficient for all the OfferUp wants to accomplish which could frustrate those not willing to make the tough calls. Parking is limited and so are walking distance food options.

Pros

I have been at OfferUp for just a few weeks but the feedback from those who work here is consistent. People are here because of their ability to make a big impact. The size and scale of the opportunity is huge. The size of the customer base is huge and the leadership obsess over how to constantly improve the customer experience. Other reasons why folks are here is that they like and respect the people they work with. Others like the flexibility work/life balance relative to working for a larger company. But most of all they value the opportunity to add value and have much greater autonomy than at a large company.

Cons

While no good restaurants nearby is a drag, the thing that people would like to see is that the company improve its ability to execute and operate more efficiently. These are normal growing pains as OfferUp is transitioning form a pure product and engineering company to one that is building a business and grow revenue.

Pros

The most transparent company I've ever worked for. Leadership is smart and frugal. Everyone is super dedicated and collaborative. A fun place to work, with a product and mission that are rewarding.

Cons

Need a bigger kitchen for all the free snacks.
