Toxic culture

Pros

Able to learn new technology, although lots of engineers I admire are all gone.

Cons

Ou culture is you can only speak positively and agree with all the order. if you question any technology or management decision, you would better keep it by yourself. If you dare to say it, your manager will keep asking why you are unhappy and why you think negatively. It looks like there is no collaboration, no questioning, and only keep nodding.

amazon culture

Pros

good location and good platform of tech

Cons

one thing I used really like OU is work life balance. after we got amazon coo, we gain more amazon culture. No wfh, manager asked me to work extra hours in stand-up. Fortunately, my manager does not understand any technology and no way he is able to know how much work I actually did, so my life is not that bad

Pros

The company has recently beefed up the leadership team, with a new COO, CFO, and CTO. The new leadership has given more organization to the startup and has given the company a revitalized sensation of success. The office is fun to work at, our engineering quality is strong, and I have a strong belief in the future of the company. Compensation is competitive.

Cons

There is constant change within the company with leadership changes and engineering turnover (which has slowed down). Base salary is really good, whereas total comp is heavily built on stock options. Some of the classic startup cons I would say.
