Pros

Fast paced, fun environment. Decent job for students needing part time work. Very hard to advance or get raises.

Cons

Terrible management, did not train properly and threw inexperienced people into mix without explanation or any training.

Pros

Training is great! Especially if you are part of a brand new staff opening a new location. Low turnover, great money on any on the evening shifts. Staff was always willing to trade shifts and help one another. Side work is easy. Menu was simple, even the 110 beers were relatively simple to pair with food menu items. The drink specials created lots of regulars. This was one of the most fun jobs I have ever had, I would probably still be working at least one night a week if I hadn't moved across the country.

Cons

UGH! TRIVIA NIGHT! My particular location had trivia night on Wednesday nights, which i chose to work for nearly a year. It was horrible. It generated this absurd group of non tippers and guests that would sit for 3 hours not allowing any turnover. Late nite menu, at some point we the extended hours changed (I can't remember specifics) and a late nite menu was developed. The menu servings were tiny and over priced.

Pros

Flexible scheduling. Great hourly staffs. Fun regulars. Menu and decor updates are fresh and exciting. Hourly development programs are great if specs are followed. Corporate brand pillars are relatable and easy to articulate and practice. The staff and the guests are why I still work for this company. Corporate management training at the Broomfield store is some of the best in the industry.

Cons

Excessive emphasis on the middle of the P&L draws focus from driving top line sales making it difficult to consistently execute. Culture of sexual harassment is rampant and whether you are male or female, reporting to HR will induce backlash at a regional level. Definite glass ceiling if you're not a member of the "good ol' boys" club. Manager development stops after initial 7 week training. Could also be considered a pro, but it is near impossible to be let go if you are a manager. Corporate regionals and VPs would rather wait for someone to quit than bite the bullet and fire someone for poor performance. Contracted to work 50 hour weeks however 60-70 is the expected reality.
