There are plenty of opportunities for growth and professional development when you look in the right places. ODU is a research university so there are many research opportunities available. There's also a ton of student organizations on campus where you can get leadership experience.

Cons

More than a few of the professors in the mechanical engineering department are genuinely disinterested with their students and teaching, so you will have to find support outside of the lecture hall.
