Pros

OMC offers unlimited potential to those who are willing to work hard/smart. The Firm is a truly 'flat' organization, where shared ideas and concepts transcend all levels of experience and knowledge. Management approaches all strategies as a team effort, and understands that the occasional fail is part of growing as a trading firm. Turnover at OMC is well below industry average. Management's expansive vision for the Firm is clear and communicated to all employees periodically, or upon request. Firm culture comfortably collaborates diverse employee backgrounds and experience. Of the 4 trading firms at which I've been employed, I'm happiest and see the greatest potential with OMC.

Pros

- The most senior traders know how to trade - Friendly, generally - Lots of food - Ex employees seem to land on their feet very nicely. A testament to the firm's solid fundamental training.

Cons

- Questionable recruiting professionalism - Not all groups have equal opportunities for learning or to showcase talent - Opaque career advancement within the firm - Shockingly cliquey for its size. "Flat" structure only nominally. - Potential hires with strong quantitative/technical backgrounds are not given appropriate opportunities to demonstrate their value. - For a firm that has been recruiting since 2013 there are shockingly few survivors from successive hiring classes.

Pros

From the perspective of a person who has worked at various trading firms, and met enough people that work at even more, I can tell you this is a great place to work. The opportunity is great, the managing directors are willing to invest a lot into the development of employees, compensation is fair, and benefits are good. Coming out of school, I remember it being tough to differentiate the opportunities at one trading firm vs. another. Luckily, I ended up here and I will stay here as long as they let me.

Cons

Opportunities at a growing trading firm are entrepreneurial. Can be a con if you are looking for a job where you can coast. However, it can be viewed as a positive if you are looking for a place where to leverage your potential.
