Some Pros, Some Cons

Pros

A large community of seasonal workers flock there every season. Offered free, daily movement & meditation classes, some free weekly personal development classes, and one free workshop per season. Major discounts for staff on Wellness/Massage Services. Some managers were friendly. Workload was manageable. Beautiful campus. If there was vacancy they allowed staff to have up to two guests stay overnight for free 2x per season.

Cons

No benefits, bonuses or vacation/sick time for seasonal employees. A very low pay rate because although Omega pays minimum wage to $16 per hour, they charge an expensive, ever-increasing room and board fee: In 2022 they deducted $6 per hour for room and board for a small, single room or a trailer both with communal/shared bathrooms. So the actual hourly rate was $7.50-$10.00 per hour before taxes. Seasonal staff could only have visitors (even day visitors) on a total of 4 days over a five and a half month season. Some managers were outright unfriendly and disrespectful. Overall a dismissive attitude from management toward seasonal staff. No room for career/job growth.
