Pros

Good benefits, good pay, good travel perks.

Cons

I was hired in July 2022 as a professional service specialist. This department was already dramatically understaffed when I came to the company. I went through the training and became fully certified in field ops. Then Omnicells Stock went down by 25%, and they decided to cut 1/10 of all staff. They announced this and said they would take 2 weeks to decide who they were going to fire. After 2 weeks of anxiety, they sent out a zoom invite with no description 20 minutes before the meeting started. They fired 350 of us within a 5-minute zoom call. In this call, they said they expected us to work through the end of the year when they would cut out benefits. From what I have gathered, they have done this multiple times in the past. Employees beware.

Pros

The devices they are working on are challenging and fun to work on. Benefits are good such as healthcare and stock option but they under pay significantly I have found out in my job search now.

Cons

I worked at Omnicell for about three years, in that time I had 3 different managers and other members of the team leaving constantly. During my last months one of the other engineers from a nearby region transferred to a different department in the company, and there was no backfill plan. So my region went from having 3 customers within 2 hrs of me which is manageable. To having 6 some of which are 7.5 hrs from me. I lived in my car for several months as they struggled to get a new engineer. I had more tickets in that stretch of two months than I did all that previous year. And I couldn’t keep up, there was times I would work on weekends and be getting into hotels at midnight after driving so much. I had been home less than 15 days in that stretch and I was let go for falling behind in the paperwork when I was doing the work of two engineers and traveling far too much. The worst of it was I found out there was an engineer 2 hrs from some of the extra sites I was driving to and he wasn’t asked to help cause he was in a different region.

Pros

Future focused and growth oriented. Some benefits such as the ESPP and quarterly bonus program that are really good. Have done a pretty good job handling COVID. Pay is competitive. Stock is doing great.

Cons

Quite a few product issues. Leadership is disconnected from the workforce. Some of the new high level leaders who have joined in 2021 do not embody the core value of relationships matter. For the most part the core values are just words on paper. DEI is performative.
