Pros

If management changes, business has growth potential.

Cons

My experience at Enthalpy was deeply negative due to a pervasive culture of gossip fostered by leadership. Instead of collaboration, hearsay and speculation dominate, creating an atmosphere of mistrust and anxiety. I've witnessed colleagues undermined based on rumors, not performance. This fear-based environment stifles open communication and discourages innovation. Leadership's complicity in this behavior is concerning; they often condone, even participate in, the gossip and that includes human resources as well. This toxic culture has impacted morale and productivity. I cannot recommend Enthalpy to anyone seeking a professional environment.

Pros

1.Great place to get exposure to extractions, LCMS and GCMS analysis, as well as EPA methods for PFAS, PCBs, and pesticides. 2.Competitive pay 3.Coworkers are generally helpful and nice. 4.Lab is owned by Montrose Environmental Group, not a start-up. 5. Annual events: Christmas party, summer picnic, management usually provides lunch (like pizza or Chipotle) once a month 6. Growing company/ fast paced environment, lots to learn.

Cons

1. Growing company/fast paced environment: management tends to care more about end of the month goals and budget more than the well-being of their employees. 2. Gender bias 3. Intense micro-managing 4. Depending on your supervisor, you may find yourself constantly enforcing personal and professional boundaries. 5. Will be asked to work weekends (especially before the end of the month or before holidays). 6. May have to commute. 7. Not a lot of lateral movement within the lab, but turnover is high so you may get an opportunity to apply for a higher position if someone from another department leaves.
