Pros
Great products. good team members for the most part. some people really care a lot. great place for lots and lots of hours.
Cons
Expect new employees to be paid at something closer to the market trend, while at the same time they will NOT increase current employees' pay rates to match. So you could be there for years, and someone less qualified will get paid more then you. Especialy if you are friends with upper management.

Open Gates is a collection of companies that cover the fields of organic dairy production, organic consumer packaged goods, bulk organic dairy ingredients, midwestern products distribution for small companies, marketing, sales, trucking, retail, ecommerce, warehousing, logistics, and food entrepreneur development. Very diverse group of people in terms of interests and leadership styles which is not only appreciated but encouraged. Growth of individual businesses is driven by team members' unique interests and skills. Many people are cross-trained across the businesses. It's a unique place where someone with a high school education can rapidly become a supervisor if they have an interest and strong work ethic. Company is very supportive of work/life balance and flexibility. Because it is particularly connected to the organic dairy industry, which is growing rapidly, there is a lot of job security.
Cons
Probably just being in the midwest salaries are lower for comparable positions in bigger urban and coastal areas. Not a place for people who just want to punch a clock without really enjoying their job or the people they work with.
