Pros

The culture here is genuinely unmatched. From day one, leadership has invested in my growth. When I was promoted to CSM II in April, my VP immediately gave me direct feedback on areas to develop and has continued to check in on my progress. That level of support and candor isn't common. People actually care about your success here, not just your productivity. What really sets OpenGov apart is the mission. We're building software for state and local governments (cities, counties, and special districts) that actually impacts how they serve their communities. You're helping governments run more efficiently so they can do their jobs better. That sense of purpose bleeds into everything we do.

Pros

OpenGov offers strong growth opportunities as the company continues to scale. There is meaningful room to take on new responsibilities, expand your skill set, and grow your career, especially for people who are proactive and interested in learning across functions. The pace can be fast, but that also creates opportunities to have real ownership and visibility. The company is genuinely mission-driven, and that mission shows up in the day-to-day work. The best part of my job is knowing that the work I do helps make a difference in local communities. I get to partner cross-functionally with talented teams who care deeply about customer outcomes, which makes the work both collaborative and impactful. Seeing how our work directly supports governments and residents adds a strong sense of purpose to the role.

Cons

As a growing company, priorities and processes are still evolving, which can sometimes create ambiguity. However, at the end of the day we do what's best for the customer. The pace can be fast, especially during busy customer cycles, and working cross-functionally means balancing input from multiple teams. That said, these challenges largely come with the territory of a scaling, mission-driven organization.

Pros

OpenGov is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for and will continue to work for. The people, the culture, and the mission, drive me to show up and be better every single day. The company actively makes a priority to invest in its people with ongoing enablement, support resources and mentorship to develop their career aspirations. The entire executive leadership is top notch and is unlike any other executives I’ve worked with. The alignment across leadership and the teams is impressive and it’s working. Not to mention, the amount of women in leadership and promotions is both powerful and moving. If you want a company to invest in you and help you develop to your next opportunity, definitely consider applying for OpenGov!

Cons

I wish we can work in more offices, the collaboration is amazing
