Great Company, Incredibly Opportunity

Pros

OpenGov is chock full of passionate, smart, driven employees. The team's working on real-world problems that affect all taxpaying citizens in the nation. You'll learn more than you ever knew about our governments, and have a first-hand opportunity to revolutionize the way they operate. Everyone at the company will rally to support you, no matter which team you're on. I've never worked in an environment is 100% focused on the success of the business, rather than individual employee's personal motives. It's great.

Cons

Public Sector can be challenging, but we're figuring it out. The company has had turnover, but it's generally new hires that honestly aren't "cut out" for the job. Many have come from cushy, 9-4 jobs in 20,000+ employee organizations where it's easy to not contribute. If you're considering joining, be prepared to immerse yourself in this sector and drive results.

Thanks for the advice on how we can foster even greater trust with employees! Over the past year, we've worked hard to improve work-life balance by implementing an unlimited PTO policy, and we're also updated our digital presentation tools. With that said, we're always open to improvement, and would appreciate any additional feedback you have. Feel free to email me at Shara.seligman@opengov.com if you'd like to share more!

Pros

Use full range of skills in creative and challenging ways. Meet many peers around the nation in person and over the phone.

Cons

Much of the work is sales-support, requiring energy, enthusiasm and stamina. Customer facing issues can be challenging.
