Pros

Good pay, low stress and easy to hide. Great if you are a DEI employee as they will never lay you off as that is a huge focus.

Cons

Upper Management is clueless. When their strategies don't work they pivot, laying people off and then hire in Bangalore, India. The comp plans drove most of the good people out and then the laid off most of the other senior people over many rounds.

Pros

There are some very talented people at Optiv who truly desire to deliver quality and value to clients.

Cons

Before the new CRO and a new Regional Director, I enjoyed my time at Optiv. I was instrumental in amazing growth for my region. As they looked towards IPO, the culture has drifted to a less positive one. As RIF's have occurred, SOW and services delivery has slowed. The focus is less about the clients and more about pushing technology and email campaigns, regardless of client needs. They used to incentivize services, which provides great value to clients, and now they only incentivize tech sales. Too many tools that don't integrate well creating redundancy in our workflows, and the hiring of a Regional Director that doesn't understand our business creating low value busy work, the culture and support I once enjoyed has fallen apart.

Get to work with nice, smart, and talented people

Cons

After abrupt, sweeping layoffs over the past few years, there has been a huge lack of direction, collaboration and overall engagement. A nobody cares anymore attitude. Opportunity for growth and advancement feel almost non-existent. Constant obsession with billable hours, insanely high utilization rates which leads to constant burnout. Zero connection between sales and services delivery - often leads to over promise's and under deliveries.
