      Not a Place to Build a Career

      Pros

      Work life balance is available in some teams. Learning opportunities may be an option, also not available to all.

      Cons

      Optiv promises no Layoffs will happen and then go right ahead to lay off employees quietly. The same thing happened in 2017, in 2020 and now in 2022. Not a place to build a career. Takes years for promotions to happen in some departments. They will lay you off and retain teammates in India because it’s cheaper to do some. No consideration for work quality.

      Pros

      Optiv was a great place to start within the "Cybersecurity" industry, but outside of that there were few benefits.

      Cons

      If you look at Optiv, they are very heavy on Management, but they don't place any importance in managment. I clearly recall multiple managers and VPs stating that they had no control over anything (pay, discounting, fixing customer environments, etc). The company is run by folks from consulting firms who are in the business of squeezing out every nickle from OPEX to sell the company.

      1) There’s plenty of learning opportunities available 2) quarterly bonuses 3) unlimited pto

      Cons

      - unfair pay - HR doesn’t support employees. Sides with managers even if you have documentation showing biases, lies, and retaliation, - HORRIBLE management - favoritism - toxic workplace - no work life balance - although you will have unlimited pto, you will either denied and guilt tripped into working during your time off - benefits are expensive - once again you will be underpaid
