Pros

Good industry to be in, unlimited PTO, overtime pay

Cons

Optiv used to be a great place to work, but ever since Kevin Lynch was brought in as CEO to try and have the company go public, it has taken turns for the worse every year. This position will soon be cut way back and an outsource team from India will be doing most of the work while a few COSs stick around to engage with customers.

Once great, now a scary place to work

Pros

Nice offices when needed. Remote work is optional for most employees. Some great people work here.

Cons

It's all about the money at Optiv and anything that isn't making or saving money is very expendable. Large swaths of employees are unceremoniously let go and you never know it's coming until suddenly people are missing from meetings. Optiv also prides itself on being an international company but there is a dark side to it all as more and more positions are being outsourced overseas for less money and existing employees are quietly shown the door. Benefits in general are far below competitors. Many great people I enjoyed working with have been let go and I can't help but wonder, am I next?

Pros

Work life balance The people are nice to work with Remote work is the norm

Cons

Pay is horrible compared to market. No clear paths for career growth Sexism is rampant. It’s a good ol’ boys club. Too many males in leadership who have inappropriate situations with direct reports - then remain at the company in leadership roles. The company is lead by the sales team. Instead of big picture what is good for the company, decisions are made by what’s best for the sales team at that time. A lot of wasted resources chasing the next big thing instead of strategically making decisions for the long term business. If you aren’t in leadership or the “in” group, you’re no one
