Pros

I was part of an acquisition. Since I work from home, I have to say there's a good work/life balance. Benefits are probably as good or better than most high tech companies. My former company's organizational structure remained intact after the acquisition, so it's almost like still working for my old company, but under a new name.

Cons

The performance evaluations are a joke. Lots of hype, but little substance. Same goes for Development Plans. Because Acquired companies remain partially intact, if you didn't like your previous company, you won't necessarily be any happier once you become acquired by Oracle. The IT Bureaucracy is the worst I've ever seen. Trying to get help for a PC issue is hopeless. You're forced to log a help ticket online, and you may never get a response. Forget about picking up the phone to call someone for help.

Pros

- flexible schedules and ability to work from home - strong vision and extensive product line of quality products and services - highly talented and intelligent people

Cons

- very little room for advancement or rewards for employees who exceed expectations. No focus on employee development or satisfaction. - many layers of management and few empowered to make decisions, many with overlapping job responsibilities - aggressive, non-collaborative culture

Pros

Fast changing company , highly acquisitive , lots of new virtual teams to work with , access to good products and supporting collateral, the Oracle brand opens doors.

Cons

Pay grade changes are prohibited. Over delivering in a role is at the employees expense. HR processes are non resistant. "investing in people" is an alien concept. only Sales and Development are respected , the remainder is 'over head'. Attrition remains in low single digits , giving the corporation the upper hand in managing Human Capital.
