Pros
About 30% of the people managers were great at their job, instilled confidence, and encouraged opportunities for growth. Generous pay and benefits, even for entry-level developers. A good culture if you like having multiple deliverables, don't mind ambiguity/changing priorities, and are good at office politics.
Cons
Sometimes change seemed to be pushed downhill solely for the sake of managers feeling important or having something to show for their time, which made genuinely complex projects difficult. There's a lot of "everyone for themselves" mentality within most groups, especially when it comes to assets. Short-sighted management decisions to save money and pretty consistent concerns about layoffs.
