Pros

Base was good to start. medical benefits are amazing. Our family expenses are easily $150K per year. I think we payout $2,000 year in deductibles. I've developed many friends and worked on some extremely good technology.

Cons

As I said base base is good. I started with $126k with $37K bonus. typically my group hits about 80% of our number. The annual take in recent years has been $142k to $155k. Now I started 14 years ago, Good employees, with 4&5 reviews have not had a raise since new hire. Many of my peers have shared the same experience with me. I've seen people get raises or promotion to IC5 in one of two ways. One, they essentially negotiate with their managers to leave for a year and come back at a higher rank and pay 366 days later. Two, you go through the motions of interviewing with other companies (Oracle Engineers have a cachet) Then take the offer letter to management with no intention of joining the new company.

Surrounded by really smart people who work hard.

Cons

Onboarding was awful. They do not teach you much about what you are selling and throw you right in and expect you to reach quota. They take a "used car salesman" approach to selling. When you want to take time off that you have accrued, you feel guilty because your quota is still there and you are expected to do what needs to be done to get a deal done even while on vacation.

Cons

- OCI is embarrassingly behind other major tech companies, and working there makes it clear why - Leadership falsely promotes that they can meet customer demands when they constantly fail to deliver - Reactive, chaotic environment driven by poor planning and knee-jerk decisions - Secret layoffs happen regularly, structured just under the WARN notice threshold to avoid public reporting - Layoffs are followed by hiring cheaper replacements to artificially boost quarterly earnings - Pay is far below market standards for a tech company - RSU packages are inflated in offers but most employees are laid off before vesting - No real career development, mentorship, or performance reviews - Employees are treated like disposable placeholders, not valuable team members - Toxic culture built on fear, politics, and short-term optics over true innovation
