Pros

Good work/life balance. Generally in support it is 40 hours/week, with some weekends if you want (paid) although this may vary by team. Remote work is within the realm of possibility. Very accommodating and flexible. Decent benefits.

Cons

Your happiness may heavily depend on who your manager is. Some managers are slaves to reports and micromanage their employees ceaselessly attempting to chase the latest metrics. You will probably not get raises, and certainly not raises that keep pace with cost of living, even if you are an excellent performer (at least in the support org). You will likely not receive bonuses. There is no profit sharing. Layoffs have started and are seemingly arbitrary. Anyone above a director level will view you as a replaceable cog in a gargantuan machine. Vacation for non-exempt employees is sad (3 weeks per year accrued...max 4.5 weeks accrual allowed). 4 of the 15 days of vacation must be taken between Christmas and New Year's.

Pros

- Smart, talented group of co-workers - Flexible, hybrid work-life balance - In general, never had a problem taking time off or time out of my day to attend my kids events or go to medical appointments. - Good benefits - Corporate takes work-life balance seriously; tries to be supportive of employees career paths and goals - Good opportunities to broaden development skills and continuous learning.

Cons

- Pay seemed to be under market value - Sometime unrealistic expectation from upper-middle management for teams to do more with less - Such a large company .... it can be difficult to make sense of some of its policies. Too much red tape to get what you need when you need it. - Sometimes felt like there was a regular expectation of working weekends to meet deadlines, but company is so big that this isn't true/consistent across the org - depends on business unit and management team.
