      Good company for Entry Level Tech Professionals

      Pros

      It's a good place to start out your tech career. They provide extensive training especially within the sales & solution engineering organization. Most of the managers are a pleasure to work with and are very smart. Good senior management if you're looking for opportunities for mentorship and learning.

      Cons

      Oracle tends to be cheap. They would often pay lower compared to other big tech companies. OCI engineering organization tends to be reactive rather than proactive, resulting in fire drills being common in the workplace. There have been years where they postponed annual raises which was not fair.

      High level of autonomy, middle management are empathetic - they're in the same boat. Or at least that what they say.

      Cons

      2 promotions and 14 years service and my salary has declined 22% in real terms.
